SP3 Sclae Inhibition Filter Media
SP3 is a catalyst that converts calcium and magnesium hardness in water into insoluble micro-crystals. These micro-crystals also release essential minerals back into the water, contributing to its overall health benefits. The media typically lasts for 5 to 7 years, depend on the water source.
Working Principle:
The chemical reaction that takes place inside the pressure vessel as water flows through the
SP3-PLUS nucleation grains is described by the following equation:
Ca(HCO3)2 → CaCO3 + CO2 + H2O
The name "SP3-PLUS" reflects its ability to transform calcium bicarbonate (Ca(HCO3)2) into
three components:
CaCO3 – micro-crystals
CO2 – colloid gas
H2O – pure water
As a result, calcium carbonate crystals grow steadily. However, they are very stable and
cannot dissolve (incapable of forming scale) in the water.
Working conditions:
There is no need for salt, chemicals, or regular back-washing.

flow rate, and system design. Replacement is recommended after this period
to maintain optimal performance.
